Gender Differences

Are girls smarter than boys? Do girls have more advatnages in the class room than boys? I really dont think so. What I think is there is a fine medium of both. While yes studies have shown in the past few years that girls do make up more of college populations around the country and that they are earning better grades in the classroom. But this not exactly true all over the country. At my highschool, we didnt recognize a validictiorian or salutatorian but if we did, first place would have gone to a male, and second place would have went to a female. And those 2 individuals just happened to be dating for much of our highschool years. Funny huh. I also believe that most females might excel in certain areas in the classroom, like studying, taking tests, understanding the material more, book work in general. Where males tend to learn and understand more of real life lessons. Building things, fixing things, maybe improving something that is sub par. Running a farm, or fixing cars. Women do like to read directions more, males just try and wing it and see what happens in the end. (I'm guilty of that). But each gender does have there pros and cons, and thats what makes our society and our country a diverse and successful one.

Facebook

Facebook seems to be a must among high school and college students, and now even full grown adults. With Facebook you can meet people from all over the world, the country, the state, or even the city you live in. Say your heading off to college and you want to talk to some people that already go there. You can get on facebook, and look those people up then ask them questions about the school, then once you get there you might start a friendship with that person that helped you. Facebook is also a good way to keep in touch with your friends, both close and ones that you might not have talked to in a while. Facebook is also a way to meet new people that you may be interested in dating. Maybe you meet someone out on the town one night, you can then go back to your Facebook and see if they have one, and start getting to know one another.

Facebook also has some downfalls. Users on Facebook who are under age typically tend to post pictures of themselves doing or participating in illegal activities. (Beer, Weed, Sex..etc) This stuff should not be posted for the public to see. Also you never know who you can meet on Facebook, and if that person is really who they say they are. Thats why someone should not post personal information like cell numbers, or e mail, or addresses.

Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is a very popular topic in todays world. It seems that it is most popular on the west coast particulary in California, Las Vegas, etc. I really dont have a problem with plastic surgery as long as people dont go overobard, and start cutting themselves more than a thanksgiving turkey. If someone feels that need to fix something on their bodies, and they have the financial stabiliy to pay for it, then more power to them. I really dont see myself ever getting any kind of plastic surgery, because I believe my problems if any can be fixed naturally with hard work, and not with a quick fix. Plastic surgery has become such a popular topic that on todays tv there are many shows on different networks that are all about plastic surgery. They show different procedures, different doctors, problems afterwards, success afterwards etc. One of the shows I know is Dr.90210 on the Bravo network that is all about plastic surgery and its patients.

Body Image

Body Image in our country is everything to most people. For girls, they think that they are fat even if they are nothing of the sort. For guys, we have to have the washboard abs, the large biceps, and just overall be in shape. While yes, it is important for everyone to be healthy and live a strong life, some people just dont want or dont care to have the "perfect body". They totally fine with not being perfect, because if we all were then this world would be very boring. I myself do no the perfect body in the world, and I could use some improvement in some ways, but I also dont think that I need to be perfect in any way. I like being who I am, and thats the way more people should feel too. There is a famous quote that says "I would rather be hated for who I am, then be loved for im not". That quote is so true, just be who you are and live your life. If your happy then thats all that matters. Now, im not saying that if you dont have the perfect body that you wont possibly get made fun of or looked at differently, but again that stuff shouldnt bother you. Now, if you do have the so called "perfect body" then more power to you for taking the time and effort to make all that progress, and see the pay off in the end. I might someday have a body like that but who knows I guess we'll find out.

My Mother, My Hair.

While reading my mother my hair I was sitting there thinking I'm so glad I am a guy and this never has and never will happen to me. Because my mother doesn't really care what my hair looks like as long as it's not totally out of control, and it suits me. I usually wear my hair pretty short on the sides and back, and about finger length on top. I have been using this style for quite a while and I really like it. Its good for both going out and gelling it up, or putting a hat on and just chilling. I could never imagine my mom telling me how to cut or wear my hair. I also feel sorry for any kid out there whos mother does tell them how to wear, or cut their hair, or how to dress, act, think, etc. I think those parents need to sit back and realize that their children are their own person and they need to make their own decisions on their life styles. Enough said.

Rewritten Intro

Maybe somewhere in this big world we live in, there is someone who thinks that a Chevy Truck and my self are very similar. This opinion would come straight out of left field but to each it's own. Funny thing is I don't mind being compared to a Chevy truck because if that's the case then I must be hard working, dependable, and trust worthy. All of those qualities are phenom, and would only add to the person I am trying to become.

Old Intro

As the song says "Like a Rock", that's what I like to think I am. Just like Chevrolet trucks I am striving to be hard working, dependable, trust worthy, and not burn a lot of fuel. (ha ha) When citizens of this great country we live in, go shopping for a new truck those are the main qualities that the new truck should possess.

Affects of a Loss

Our newest essay is about a loss that has happened in your life, and how the loss has affected your life. This essay can bring many different points of view on what a loss is to different people. A loss to someone could mean a loss of a friendship or a loss of something you really cared for like an object. Or to someone else it could mean a loss of a parent to death, or someone close to you. I have chosen to write about the loss of my father at the young age of 7, and how losing my father has affected my whole life. Also more in depth detail of how the loss of my father has affected certain things in my life like sports, school, graduation, work etc etc. Any other person who has lost a parent, especially a father should be able to connect and agree with me on all the points I make in essay. I really hope I do this essay justice and produce a very good paper. I think I have the material to do that.
