College Playoffs

In College football there is what called the BCS, which stands for Bowl Championship Series. This consist of 5 major bowls. They are The Rose Bowl, The All-State Sugar Bowl, The Fed Ex Orange Bowl, The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, and finally the BCS National Championship Game. 8 teams will make one of the 4 bowls excluding the championship by there record on the year also there strength of schedule. Teams that can qualify for the national championship game have to be from one of the major conferences like The Big 12, SEC, ACC, Pac 10, Big 10 etc. Smaller more intermediate conferences like the MAC, WAC, Conference USA, etc teams in theses conferences have a harder time qualifying for the major bowls, becuase there strenght of schedule is never very high, or never is the same as the bigger more prominent teams. If a team in the major conferences goes undefeated then they should get an automatic bid in the national championship game, but there have been exceptions like 2003 when the Auburn Tigers when 13-0 and did not recieve a bid to the game, while a team with one loss did. Overall, the BCS needs to be reformed in some ways. So that in the future we can be certain that the top 2 teams in the nation will play for the college crown.
